Competition to Celebrate 1 year of Facebook

The Memories of Mine Facebook Page celebrated its first this month. What better way to celebrate a Milestone a little Competition.

So who wants their favourite photo turned into a 10 x 8 inch personalised 2012 calendar.

These Calendars make great fridge calendars or fame them and stick them on your desk at work.

FAVOURTIE PHOTO COMPETITION DETAILS TERM & CONDITIONS

1. Competition is open to all my Australian Facebook Likers. One entry per person is allowed.

2. Post your favourite photo to my facebook page any time between now and 5pm on 4/2/12
(The photo can be of your kids, pets, favourite place, favourite thing) it just has to be a picture of something you love.

3. All photos posted will be compiled into an album on the Memories of Mine Facebook page by myself.

4. Share the album link and get people to vote. Voting opens 8am on Sunday 5th Feb 2012 and closes Midnight 12th Feb 2012.

5. Anyone can vote. For a vote to be eligible the voter must “Like” the photo in the competition album.

6. EXTRA BONUS Votes. Receive 3 extra bonus votes on your photo each time anyone who is a LIKER The Memories Of Mine Photography Facebook Page votes and leaves a comment on your photo saying “I have clicked the LIKE button for Memories of Mine Photography FB page”

7. Any photos with 20 or more votes will go in the draw to win a $150 photographic gift voucher with Memories of mine Photography.

8. Winners will be announced here in the comments of this blog post and can contact me at www.memoriesofminephotograph@gmail.com to organise postage of calendars and or gift certificate. Failure to comply with rules will lead to disqualification.

Steeling Hearts ~ Melbourne Photographer

Ok, so today I wanted to share with you a session I took a few weeks ago of the most amazing sweet and happy little girl. I have to admit that I have a bit of a soft spot of very special kids and I found this little girl online and approached her mum asking her if she would like some professional photos of her daughter.
Sometimes it’s all too easy to forget how precious happiness that family brings is.
Ellie had already stolen my heart before I met her. I’d read her blog and got a bit of an insight to her families personality. I’d only got to spend an hour and a half with this family in a park but that was ample of time to see the love they have. I know they face challenges but the grace they possessed and the acceptance they seemed to have for their daughter just blew me away.
I’m not a good writer which is why I prefer to tell my stories with images but this time I’m only giving you one image and if you want to see more you’ll have to head over to Ellie’s blog

A Very Memories of Mine Christmas ~ Melbourne Photographer

Wowsers, what an eventful Christmas day we had, the weather was just crazy hot and then came the horrendous hail storm which ripped through Melbourne doing all sorts of damage. To top it all off we ended up in the emergency ward at the dental hospital. My son broke his tooth in half, but it wasn't a pork crackle injury or even a fall off the new bike that caused the broken front tooth. A simple slip on a wet floor from the storm is what did the damage.

I’ll be putting Christmas 2011 down as one to be remembered for years to come.

Almost 2012 ~ Melbourne Photographer

2012 is almost upon us and my new year’s resolution is to blog more. This shouldn’t be a hard resolution to keep considering I haven’t blogged for a good 8 months now. It’s been so dormant here, the cobwebs need a good dusting and I wonder if any one even visits here. Oh looking at live feed tracker I have the stray visitor that pops by, that's good news.
Back in November I had the privilege of meeting Barb Uil from Jinky Art Photography and attending one of her workshops. Now inspired with drive and direction I know that 2012 will be a great year for my photography. I’m going to leave you with a few shots from my time in Canberra at the Jinky Art Retreat .

How ever you are spending your long weekend may it be filled with smiles and laughter, bunnies either the fluffy or chocolate kind.

I'm going to cherish my 5 days off, surrounded by family and friends, with plans for a family roast dinner, a barbecue with friends and a fun outing or 2 for the kids.

We've made chocolate crackles today and now onto the ANZAC biscuits, the kids are still in their pj's and most likely stay in them all day. Not often you get to enjoy a lazy Friday.

Where ever you are, what ever you are doing I hope you are enjoying yourself.

These photos of this adorable little cutie pie were taken about a month ago. Our Melbourne summer was far less then impressive this year but on this particular day the sun shone and the weather was pleasant , just perfect for photo taking.

To me it is always a great pleasure and responsibility to capture someone’s family or children in photos that will be pound to displays and show. Little Miss Cutie made my job very easy to do just that. She got into the swing of modeling very quickly and lasted about an hour and a half. I think that deserves credit for anyone to last that long even more so for a 2 year old.

You must, must must check out the wonderful goodies at Carnival Designs. She makes the most amazing hats, hair accessories, children's clothes, pettiskirts and more. I am totally in love with all her creations. Originally intended as photo prop, but my daughter has other ideas and has snagged one hat for herself and has her eye on a few others.

I am sure you will agree these designs will make any girl feel special. Just Adorable is all I can say.

A basket full of sunshine,
A house full of joy.
What could be sweeter,
Than a new baby boy.

This adorable little man was 17 days old when I got to take his pics. Oh my goodness I'd forgotten how adorable fresh babies are, their tiny fingers and hands and that wonderful baby smell.

Getting to meet this little guy and his beautiful family was such a treat.

There is a saying somewhere that goes "Never work with kids or animals" well I'm now doing both. Animals are an important part of many family's and are love just like children. They deserve their own beautiful photos on the mantel for their owners to cherish forever.
